The world-famous Spaniard Inn, Kinsale, Co. Cork,
the gourmet capital of Ireland has been owned by Pat & Mary

On offer is a wide selection of ales and stout, fine wines and spirits in cozy open fire bars, with regular traditional music and ballad sessions.

Both lunch and dinner are served daily with an emphasis on fresh local produce to prepare the best of traditional dishes including traditional bacon & cabbage, Irish stew, Kinsale wild Bandon salmon, mussels, oysters and wild smoked Bandon salmon.

The Spaniard Inn is mentioned in every good guide to Ireland and is well known throughout the world, it is also the winner of the James Joyce Pub Award – Awarded in October 1998, which reads

‘this Pub as been granted the James Joyce Pub Award for being an authentic Irish Pub the award goes on to say ‘this establishment remains an outstanding example of the tradition which Joyce immortalized in his works. It is an authentic Irish Pub that retains a genuineness of atmosphere, friendliness, and presence of good company.

Also mentioned in Georgina Campbell’s 1999 Tipperary Water Guide to Ireland. This independently accessed guide to the best food, drink, accommodation, and hospitality in Ireland. “Who would fail to be charmed by the Spaniard that characterful and friendly old Pub perched high above the town. Although probably best known for music they do a good job on the food side too. Much of their wholesome tasty fare is traditional but it occasionally strays into international form, Cajun Chicken and peppers for example, and of course, local sea food is a specialty. There is a daily special for vegetarians and evening meals are quite elaborate affairs, sirloin steaks with pepper sauce or farmhouse duckling with cherry brandy sauce for example.”

These are two of many write-ups in guides to the Spaniard in Kinsale. A visit to The Spaniard is well worthwhile. Here you will find hospitality, friendliness, quality and service to make your visit memorable.
