Inis Meain
The
Island of Inis Meain lies to the south east of Inis Mor and
is just 3 miles long by 2 miles wide. This little Island is
claimed to be the quietest of the Islands but has all the historical
attributes of Inis Mor with a spectacular oval fort, Dun Couchubhuir,
and numerous examples of early settlement on this tranquil Island.
Traditionally known as an excellent place to retreat and escape
the hustle and bustle of modern life, Inis Meain offers beauty,
peace and prolific wildlife.
Visitors
to the Island will find a hotel, restaurant, bed and breakfasts
and self catering accommodation.
