Hotels
Hotels in Ireland are of a high standard, and again range from basic to sumptuous, with prices from around €64 to €200 per room per night. Tourist offices provide details of registered hotels, and again bookings can be made through these offices, or from one hotel to the next. Ireland boasts some of the most beautiful castles and manor houses in Europe which have been tastefully converted to provide the very best international standards of accommodation.

Bed & Breakfast
Guest houses and Bed and Breakfasts are abundant throughout Ireland. Normal standards now usually include en-suite showers, TV, tea and coffee making facilities.

There are numerous unregistered Bed and Breakfasts and Guest houses, many of which are superb in every way. It is always advisable to ask to see the room before booking in, as standards of registered and unregistered accommodation can vary greatly. Generally though, the standard is excellent.

Hostels
There is a hostel organisation for Northern Ireland called Youth Hostel Association of Northern Ireland (YHANI) which has seven hostels in the North Tel: 01 232-315435

In the Republic, "An Oige" looks after 37 hostels and can be contacted at Tel: (353) (0)1 8304555 e-mail anoige@iol.ie, web site www.irelandyha.org. Hostel prices can, depending on location and season, vary from €8 to €23 per person per night. It is generally necessary to rent or have a sleeping bag.

Self Catering
The self catering market in Ireland has developed hugely during the past 10 years. Normally they comprise small groups of purpose built apartments or cottages, but there are a number of individual townhouses available in many cities.
