A unique
self catering cottage, The Lodge, Rossleague is set in the Irish countryside
close to Cobh in County Cork, Ireland. It is a restored farm cottage with
views across farmland to Cork Harbour. An ideal centre for bird watching
or touring East Cork with its many heritage sites.
Facilities: Sleeps 5. Two ground floor bedrooms (one twin, one single)
with shower WC. Unusual feature is a small stairway leading from kitchen
to one twin bedded room with en-suite shower/WC. Small kitchen/dining room
with open fire, large conservatory. Central heating, TV/Video, telephone,
electric blankets, line dried linen. Gravelled courtyard at rear surrounded
by old style farm buildings.
An Irish welcome: The Lodge is open all year, rates from £200-£300 per week. Brochure available. A pack of fresh Irish produce is there to welcome you on arrival. The Lodge is 3 star Bord Failte approved accommodation.
Access: 40 minutes drive from Cork Airport or Ringaskiddy (Cork) Ferryport via local cross river ferry. Good road access from Shannon, Dublin and Rosslare.
Your Holiday: Tour the many historic sites in East Cork or enjoy the varied attractions available in Cobh and on the Great Island which are all within 10 minutes drive of The Lodge. Visit Cobh Heritage Centre, St. Colman’s Cathedral, Cobh Museum, Fota Wildlife Park and Arboretum and the many good pubs and restaurants nearby.
Birdwatching: An ideal spot to see wetland and estuary
birds, also woodland and garden birds. Cuskinny Marsh and the sea are
only a 15 minute walk.
Golf: Local 9-hole course plus 18-hole courses each less
than 30 minutes drive away.
Watersports: 10 minutes drive to the sea and your choice
of watersports or fishing.
